DANVILLE - The League of Women Voters announced plans for Candidates Night Tuesday, Oct. 23, in Danville for candidates in the 11th Congressional District and 107 Legislative District.
The candidate forum will be held at American Legion Post 40, located at 175 Northumberland St. (Route 11). Candidates in the 107th District, incumbent Republican Rep. Kurt Masser and Democratic challenger Ted Yeager will appear from 7 to 8 p.m. The forum for the congressional candidates, incumbent Rep. Lou Barletta and Democratic challenger Gene Stilp will be from 8 to 9 p.m.
Candidates will field questions posed by a panel of news professionals, followed by verbal and written questions from the audience.
Part of Northumberland County, including the Shamokin-Mount Carmel area and municipalities south and east of Sunbury, are now part of the 11th District, as is all of Montour County, the setting for the debate.
Earlier that day, Masser and Yeager will participate in a debate hosted by the Brush Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce. The debate, which will be held in conjunction with the chamber's October meeting, will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 114 N. Second St., Shamokin.
