Coins, bullets stolen

TREVORTON - Zerbe Township Police are investigating a theft from a vehicle that occurred between noon Wednesday and 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

The actor removed $10 to $15 in change and three .222-caliber bullets from the interior of a 1996 Jeep Cherokee owned by Dave Geiswhite, 49, of 1143 W. Susquehanna St..

Residents are reminded to lock their home and vehicle doors, police said.

Checkpoint arrests

SUNBURY - Two drivers were arrested for DUI following a checkpoint on Route 61 at the Upper Augusta Township-city line conducted from 11 p.m. Friday until 3 a.m. Saturday, state police in Stonington reported.

Those arrested were a 33-year-old Selinsgrove man and a 23-year-old Sunbury man. Police did not provide their names.

Also, 17 summary traffic citations were issued for various vehicle code violations.

Troopers from Milton, Selinsgrove and Stonington barracks participated.

Car hits guard rail

COOPER TOWNSHIP - A Danville driver and his passenger escaped injury in a one-vehicle accident at 12:45 a.m. Thursday on Route 2005, according to state police at Milton.

Trooper David Boucher said Stephen M. Snyder, 22, was traveling west in a 1995 Acura Integra on River Road just west of County Line Road in this Montour County township when his vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck an embankment with the front passenger side. The vehicle then went back across the road and the front driver side struck the guard rail and came to a rest, police said.

Snyder and his passenger, Jeatt Rothamel, 23, of Danville, were wearing their seat belts, police said.

Snyder will be cited for careless driving, police said.
