ABA patron ads canvassing

ASHLAND - The Ashland Mummers Club will do door-to-door canvassing for patron ads to benefit the Ashland Boys' Association Historical Marker celebration and dedication from 5 to 8 p.m. today through Saturday.

"There is a dedicated young leader of our community who has gathered high school students for this volunteer project," said association member Adam J. Bernodin III. "I thank Zack Coward, a senior at North Schuylkill High School, who lives here in Ashland. Zack has be a tremendous help for the Ashland Mummers Club for the last two years. The high school students will be properly identified at your door."

The patron ad canvassing will replace the traditional door-to-door canvassing for contributions this year, said Bernodin.

"Since we are all making history, everyone in years to come can look back and say, 'I remember this person and that person in a sentimental mood,'" said Bernodin.

Soldiers Circle group to meet

SHAMOKIN - Soldiers Circle Association meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Knockers on Market Street.
