LEMOYNE - Kathleen Hoffman, chief operating officer of Family Home Medical Home Health Agency, Mount Carmel, has been elected to the Pennsylvania Homecare Association (PHA) Board of Directors for a three-year term.
The PHA Board represents the state's homecare and hospice industry, which provides medical, personal and end-of-life care in the homes of nearly one million Pennsylvanians each year. The Pennsylvania Homecare Association, through its members, promotes and advances bringing care home.
Hoffman is a graduate of the Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing where she attained her diploma in nursing. She continued her education and earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Hahnemann University. She later went on to earn her master's degree in nursing from Drexel University.
After evaluating the needs of the community concerning specialized nursing care, she attended LaSalle University and attained certification from the National Certification Board in wound, ostomy and continence care. She then went on to become the first certified foot care nurse in Pennsylvania. Hoffman is also an item writer for the National Wound, Ostomy and Continence Certification Board, serving on the foot care committee. Hoffman is active in numerous charitable and civic organizations throughout the region.
