Domestic incident
COAL TOWNSHIP - Allen M. Shoffler, 42, of 822 W. Chestnut St., Coal Township, was charged by Patrolman Joshua Wynn with simple assault and harassment involving a disturbance late Sunday night.
According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Shoffler is accused of punching his live-in girlfriend, Ann Cress, in the face and throwing an ash tray at her. Police said Cress suffered a bloody lip and head pain during the alleged assault that occurred at their residence at about 11:30 p.m.
Shoffler was arraigned Monday by Gembic and released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
Criminal mischief
MONROE TOWNSHIP - Michael A. Wieczoreck, 47, of Long Avenue, Selinsgrove, was charged by state police at Selinsgrove with criminal mischief and harassment for allegedly striking Sonya M. Wyland, 29, of Second Street, Ranshaw, at 9 a.m. Saturday on Long Avenue.
Police said Wieczoreck also threw Wyland's phone, causing damage to it.
Car hits deer
MONROE TOWNSHIP - Brian T. Fee, 28, of Selinsgrove, escaped injury Saturday morning when his 2006 Toyota Scion struck a deer along West 11th Avenue north of Miller's Drive.
State police at Selinsgrove reported Fee was driving east at 9:52 a.m. when his vehicle struck the deer as it ran across the road.
Fee's auto sustained major damage.
