Food pantry distribution Saturday
MOUNT CARMEL - The Mount Carmel Food Pantry will hold its monthly distribution from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Notary Shop, 215 S. Oak St. for borough residents who have signed up in the past.
Residents at the Midrise are asked to meet in the lobby at 11 a.m.
County drug, alcohol meeting set
SUNBURY - The Northumberlan County Drug and Alcohol Program Advisory Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18, in the Human Services Building, 217 N. Center St.
Care package items wanted
MOUNT CARMEL - B.P.O Elks Lodge 356 is collecting items for care packages to be sent to troops deployed overseas.
Items being collected are Slim Jims, beef jerky, sunflower seeds, unscented soap, disposable razors, canned meals, toothbrushes, toothpaste, gum, hard candy, chips, pretzels, powdered drink mixes, mouthwash, Q-tips, unscented lotion, deodorant, small bottles of over-the-counter pain medication, baby wipes, foot powder, magazines, toilet paper, shaving cream, thank-you cards, stationary and gallon size or larger zip-top storage bags.
Items can be dropped off at the Elks Lodge, 128 N. Oak St., after 7 p.m. Thursday or Sunday evenings or by calling 205-4818. Items are being collected through Sunday, April 21.
