SHAMOKIN - A 26-year-old Philadelphia man wanted for threatening the lives of his ex-girlfriend and her children was taken into custody Saturday after arriving in the city by bus.

Christopher Clark got off the bus at Sunbury and Franklin streets about 8:30 p.m. when he was greeted by police officers, who received a tip he was en route to the city. Shamokin Patrolman Shane Mowery immediately took him into custody on an arrest warrant.

Clark, of 4649 James St., Philadelphia, and formerly of 220 N. Vine St., Shamokin, was turned over on scene to Coal Township police officers. He was arraigned by the on-call magisterial district judge, Hugh A. Jones of Mount Carmel, via video conference and was then jailed at Northumberland County Prison, Sunbury, in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Clark was wanted by police for allegedly threatening the lives of his ex-girlfriend, Michelle Wolfe, and her three children in the course of placing 145 cellphone calls to the woman on Oct. 29. Police said he originally called to rekindle a relationship that she broke off in 2012.

He's accused of cursing Wolfe and threatening to kill her and her three children "even if it meant waiting for them to get off the school bus," according to a criminal complaint filed Oct. 31. He also said Wolfe would "pay and pay big," the complaint states.

Wolfe reported the incident to police on Oct. 29. The threats were believed serious enough that Milton Area and Mount Carmel Area school districts, where the children attend school, had reportedly taken precautionary measures in the event Clark came looking for the kids, police said.

Wolfe said she has been abused by Clark both mentally and physically in the past, and she had a protection from abuse order against him that was filed in October 2012 and was in effect through Oct. 20, 2013.

Clark is charged with both a felony count and a misdemeanor count of terroristic threats along with misdemeanors of stalking and harassment.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III.
