It's going to be hot, hot, hot - just in time for the official first day of summer.
According to National Weather Service (NWS) meteorologist Tony Mach, high temperatures will be in the mid 80s today while temperatures Wednesday, the official first day of summer, and Thursday will be in the mid 90s. Friday and Saturday's temps will drop back down to the mid and low 80s.
Today will be mostly cloudy in the morning, and there will be a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, Mach said.
It will be hazy, warmer and humid during the day, and will stay humid in evening with patchy fog closer to midnight and low temperatures in the upper 60s, he said.
Wednesday will be mostly sunny, hot and humid with temperatures in the mid 90s. That night will be mainly clear, but still humid with low temperatures in the upper 60s, he said.
Mach said Thursday will be more of the same with mostly sunny, hot and humid with high temperatures in the mid 90s.
It won't reach heatwave hot though, he said. To reach that destinction, temperatures much be in the 90s for three days in a row, Mach noted.
