SHAMOKIN - Mayor George Rozinskie announced Tuesday afternoon that a malfunctioning pump at the city pool has been repaired and the facility will open for normal hours, noon to 6 p.m., today.
When the pump problem was discovered Monday, city officials had predicted it would be Thursday until the pool would reopen. But the pump has been repaired and the pool will be ready for business Wednesday, the mayor said.
The problem was discovered prior to the pool opening Monday. The leaking pump would not prime and it was taken for repairs.
The pump was purchased last year and is under warranty.
