COAL TOWNSHIP - Parents of Shamokin Area Elementary students are invited to meet their children's teachers next week.
Meet the Teacher Night for first grade will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at the elementary annex, and for fourth grade at 7 p.m. Monday at the main elementary building.
All other sessions will be at the main elementary school: second grade, 6 p.m. Tuesday; fifth grade, 7 p.m. Tuesday; third grade, 6 p.m. Wednesday; sixth grade, 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Parents are encouraged to attend, not only get to know teachers, but also to learn more about the district's curriculum, school rules and policies.
Each session will begin with a 30-minute presentation by teachers, designed as an information presentation instead of a simple open house visit to the classroom.
Remedial Reading specialists, learning support, speech and language teachers and some teachers from Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit will be on hand to talk about their particular programs.
A book fair will be held in conjunction with Meet the Teacher Nights from 6 to 8 p.m. in the band room. Parents interested in assisting with the book fair are asked to call Karen Colangelo at 648-4944.
