MOUNT CARMEL - Police, firefighters and emergency medical services in Mount Carmel Township and Mount Carmel will participate in a one-day charity softball tournament beginning at 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at the Midway baseball field at the north end of the borough near the Anthracite Little League Baseball Complex.
The tournament will benefit the Geisinger Janet Weis Children's Hospital.
Participants will include Mount Carmel Township, Mount Carmel and Shamokin police, Pennsylvania State Police, AREA Services Ambulance, Atlas Fire Company, Anthracite Fire Company, Clover Hose Fire Company, American Hose Fire Company, Mount Carmel Rescue Squad and Natalie Fire Company.
Receptacles will be available for people wishing to make donations.
